Siege Mortar

The Siege Mortar is the newest piece in the HytekLabs Siege Collection. We focused on making it feel heavy and functional — a real weapon of war, not a decorative prop.

Design

The mortar sits on a sturdy wooden platform with a thick stone basin angled upward for lobbing projectiles over walls. The base uses layered plank construction with visible joinery, keeping it consistent with the rest of the collection's hand-built aesthetic.

Voxel Scale Challenge

Getting siege equipment to read correctly at voxel scale takes careful choices. Every block counts — too few and it looks flat, too many and it loses the chunky charm. The mortar hits a sweet spot where the silhouette is instantly recognizable but the construction still feels distinctly voxel.

The Siege Collection So Far

• Siege Cannon — wheeled cart with angled barrel
• Siege Ladder — heavy timber for wall breaching
• Siege Mortar — platform-mounted for indirect fire

More pieces are in development. The goal is a full toolkit that gives players everything they need to stage a proper castle siege.
